Dull Daily Life

Summer is upon us and I just had to include this LO because it is such a true example of summer here in the country! Alex is enjoying an ice cream at Belews drive in! Today we are discussing a normal daily routine in our homes. My routine starts with me getting up first in the house and trying to tip toe around in order to avoid the rest of t he house getting up too soon. I enjoy my peace and quiet time all by myself chatting online and answering emails!

My day starts between 5:30 a.m. and 6 a.m.....I make coffee and settle in front of the computer to chat and get my thoughts together for the day! If it is grocery day, I even type out my list! Sophie gets up around 6:30 to 7:30 and watches cartoons while drinking a cup of milk. "What did we do as kids when cartoons were only on Saturday mornings?" What we would've given for a cartoon channell!

Alex will hit the floor about 8 a.m. and start his normal morning complaining and requests to eat! Sophie and I both want to be up a while before tackling the eating issue, not Alex....have to eat as soon as his eyes open!

I get the kids fed and the day begins...my computer time is over and I get dressed for the day! Keeping them quiet while Jim sleeps is tough and a task in it''s self! I usually start a load of laundry and straighten the kitchen before the kids decide to mess everything up again! I will start a Layout and put on a movie for them to keep everyone quiet! The rest of the day is boring and uneventful! I clean, they mess......it is the same all day provided we stay home which in the summer we seem to stay here weeks at a time!

I attempt daily to get supper started by noon....that way if we are using the crock pot it can have time to cook or if things need to thaw they can begin! Time for lunch! In school Alex eats lunch at 11 a.m. and we try to get it in around 12!

We have a cat, two birds and a dog...they all get their bowls refilled and the water dishes washed! By now I have completed two or three loads of laundry and when Sophie sleeps I put everything away! The kids and I spend time together at this point. Sometimes just a walk down to the main road and other times reading a story. Alex would rather read to himself than for me to read to him (I guess he is growing up) We always have to find Barney or Elmo on t.v. for Sophie to settle down and get ready for a nap!

Sophie will go down for a nap and I really think I am the one who needs it!
Time to scrap even more!!!!! I should get things finished around the house but I love her nap time to get a layout started or finished and of course I will check in on the computer to see if there is anything new or pressing to get done!

Once Jim gets up,(noon) I vaccum, dust and mop. He and I try to spend an hour or so catching up on the news between us. He will eat and back down for a short nap before he gets ready for work. He leaves the house around 2p.m. and will be home around 1 a.m. It is not much of a life for any of us as he isn't home much at all and when he is, he's asleep!

After Jim leaves, supper should be well on it's way-Sophie gets up and the kids and I attempt to straighten the living room which is the hub here in our home! Sophie is a ton of help if she is in the mood to clean! Alex just complains!

We eat every night around 6:30 and Alex cleans the table after dinner! We begin the night time baths, brushing teeth and the settling down part of the day! After we eat, we go for ice cream, go to the park, or some nights I fix popcorn and we watch a movie together (which means the living room needs cleaning again) Bedtime for the kids is 8:30 to 9:00 p.m. year round! Keeping a year round schedule makes bedtime during the school year normal! I warned you it is a dull life but we have a good time and enjoy each others company! As I said, a Dull daily Life!!!!
