Hello all....I have missed a few days due to other obligations! Todays layout is titled "The Passion of the Book"...I chose this one because of the challenge today to reflect on why we submit to calls and contest. This layout was created for a "Fear Factor" contest on Scraptabulous and had to include 15 photos! It was fun printing out tiny phohtos of layouts I had made throughout the months!
My contest and call journey began in January of 2006. I had played around on message boards with challenges and contests but something caught my eye on scrap submit and I decided to send in a layout for scrapstreet Ezine. It was accepted and I was hooked. I have submitted to 23 calls to this point and have been chosen for three DT's as of today. My first DT was a manufacturing company for kits and the owner lost the company within a month leaving all the DT wondering what happened.LOL
My second I was selected for, I actually told the owner no thanks because the contract had an exclusivity clause and I would have had to leave all of my friends and only visited the one site. I worked as a staff writer for Scrap facts and Moments 2 Remember and I wasn't about to stop those jobs.
My third DT selection came yesterday for Treasured Scrapbooking and I am on it until December! I also reside at Moments 2 Remember as the DT Coordinator.
I enjoy the thrill of a contest. I don't get nervous or upset if I do not make it....I can't explain why, I just never have! Maybe it is because I have been in hundreds of contests thru my life and you win some and you lose some! My motto "there is always another one tomorrow"
I am thrilled and honor to serve on the TS DT, I am thru submitting .....going to focus now on the job at hand, and I know it will be a great experience!

I picked this layout (pool party of two) of last sumer in our tiny back yard kiddy pool! LOL I guess it doesn't matter how tiny, the kids had a blast!
Let's discuss this summer and what our plans are......well like most summers, we will have a pool! We have had a large above ground pool but not any more! Just a small kiddy pool to cool off in!!!! If we move this summer, we will have the kids take lessons at the park in the new town!!! Most every afternoon the kids and I will go out for ice cream and a couple hours at the local playground.....I love summer!

I love the idea of scrapping your DT persuits in a layout. And the idea to use pictures of the layouts is great.
